SIS committed to recycling its products

SIS professional electrical equipment that you use in your activities becomes Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) when it reaches the end of its life.

In France, the Environmental Code (articles R.543-172 and following) defines since 2005 the methods of the WEEE recycling sector management, based on the principle of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). Thus, any Producer placing professional EEE on the market must organize and finance the collection, depollution and recycling of its equipment.

Committed to a responsible approach, SIS has chosen to fulfill its regulatory obligations by financing a collective recycling channel, in order to pool resources with other manufacturers, distributors and importers. SIS is a member of ecosystem, a non-profit eco-organization approved by the public authorities, to coordinate the collection, depollution and recycling of professional WEEE.

The ecosystem services implementation by SIS in France testifies to a desire to be involved in an efficient sector to manage the end of life of its equipment placed on the market. It is also the means of guaranteeing you a reliable and quality service for the collection and recycling of your professional WEEE.

Your recycling efforts rewarded with tangible benefits

Every year, thousands of tons of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) become unserviceable. These often contain substances or components polluting the environment, but also represent a high potential for recycling the materials that compose them, such as metals, plastics or glass.

In order to preserve natural resources, there is a real need to produce in a sustainable manner and to avoid polluting. The solution: recyclyng. Whether you are a manufacturer, distributor, installer, maintainer or user (…), everyone has their own responsibility.

Recycling your professional WEEE leads to concrete benefits:

  • Environmental impacts reduction of the end of product life (depollution, dismantling);
  • Natural resources preservation thanks to recovered materials;
    Creation of jobs and industrial know-how in the recycling sector in your country.
